[MOVIE REVIEW] The Maze Runner

As stated in the title, my FIRST blog post would be a review on The Maze Runner (yay!). Before i move on to blog about this topic, Let me just share with you guys what i did days before watching the movie, interested? (Say no and i'll kill you)

SO.

Last week, i went to watch another movie, and a horror one, called "afterimages''.

And Laugh all you want, because i couldn't get m18 tickets :(,
Darren got it for me anyways (yes, his horrible ic been exposed but not mine)

I rate this movie a 6.5/10? Mainly because this movie wasn't as scary as i expected. But that wasn't a case for Darren, i'll leave it to you to imagine his reaction in the movies 8D. HAHAHA, Though it was super duper cute because i myself gave him a pleasant shock too. Im just this sweet-evil. :$


COMING FROM A PERSON WHO IS MOST AFRAID OF SUPERNATURAL SIGHTS,
and I WASN'T FRIGHTENED AT ALL , you guys may be going like " WHATTTT?!" BUT YEAP. Really, it wasn't at all scary to me. The only disgusting part was the woman in the lift tearing her skin apart to remove needles from her face due to black magic called "susuk" What on EARTH is that anyway? Just, urgh.

Apart from the movie trip last Friday, i went to watch "The Maze Runner" yesterday.

Actually, i was kinda tired, down and moody that day..so yeap, today too.

No doubt, my all time favourite would be frozen yogurt, my BABIES

And off we go in to the theatre room!

RANT: Can someone tell me what on earth is "wicked is good"?It makes no complete sense and i felt like wrecking that blonde woman's head off every single time she repeated that sentence.

Many people gave bad reviews when i asked about The Maze Runner. Some actually said it was boring and some said it was confusing. But after much debating on my facebook post, i've actually found out that this maze runner show was actually SUPPOSED to be a confusing show to make us think and go into deep pondering, and THAT explained why certain people found it boring, Why? because they preferred thrilling movies like ghost/horror shows than strategic movies like Divergent, Hunger games etc... Who knows even R21 shows?


 Before the movie even started, i swear, i was already shivering, the jacket didn't seem to keep me warm :( heck. But at least, i didn't have to go out of the cinema halfway just to shit pee.

The show started, and did i forget to mention that i was already half eye closed during commercial screening? Oh yes i did. I was trying my best to not let my eyes shut, after all, who would wanna pay money to go in a theatre just to sleep? Definitely not me. Besides, i'm sure that this show would bring me great interest just like the previous strategy movies i've watched. I'm confident of it B)

To be honest here, I don't really think that Maze Runner had a great start. Having people to be sent up by elevator-liked "boxes" from the start makes me feel quite lost. Anyone felt the same? But the rest was quite okay. Then it came the part when Thomas actually couldn't remember his name, and i went " HUH " ? You might be thinking for a sleepy girl in a theatre watching such a big confusion going on on screen, i would sleep in no time. But NOPE, i was the kind of person that will get annoyed when i don't understand about something i'm interested in. Anyone the same?


Well, Thomas didn't remember his name for the time being, but meanwhile, he was introduced to the place "Glade". For all you lazy people who's unwilling to search up, Glade was actually that small plot of green land that they all lived in for 2years? or is it three? People living at the glade were actually being referred as the "gladers", Sounded professional isn't it? :)

i continued watching, there came a part Thomas remembered his name and also got introduced to 3 rules he must abide.

1) Do not fight with any other gladers, for they are a family.

2) Do your part

3) Do not go in the maze

What do they mean by "doing your part"? (again you lazy buggers), basically, every gladers are assigned to a job, more like a task to complete, yes, EVERYDAY. 

What about the maze?

The maze was actually a huge gigantic pain in the ass that surrounds the glade much like a prison,
And not to forget, mechanical creatures called grievers roam in there at night, isn't that scary?
Well, rule number 3 was a MUST for the gladers to follow. 



Hey but not to worry isn't it, 
Huge doors all around the Glade protect the Gladers from these creatures by closing every night. Yay or nay for rebellious humans?

you remember that the maze would change its pattern like EVERY NIGHT?!For me, i totally "wtf-ed" away. Like who on earth would plot the whole maze down, except for MinHo who seemed to be okay about it? Call a Singaporean do it and they'll never ever finish with those plottings. We're lazy people HAHAHA, not to mention that i hate graph plottings a lot.



Talking about rebellious humans, we have one Stubborn Thomas. Thomas, unlike other gladers, was a curious guy who wanted to be a runner and solve the maze, having to be so upset about runners in and out of the maze not to solve this mess for years. He felt that it was time to make a change, and so..

He went against the rules the first timeand went in the maze (to try to save Alby who went in and didn't make it out during the raining day as he got stung by that stupid griever)

Thomas dugged his own grave.

The moment when the walls were about to shut close, I felt that i was alive again! Imagine, Yourself to be stucked in that position, would you try to run as fast as you could to save Alby, Or stand still behind the maze and save yourself ? Tell me about it. For me? I'll not take the risk, NEVER

But good thing, He, Minho and Alby made it out the maze the next day!

Thomas killed the griever, again it left me thinking, if it was me, would i listen to MinHo, 

To Run Away ASAP,Or lure the Griever to the end and Smash it?

Of course, In life threatening conditions, I'll choose to abide Minho's demands, Who would wanna lose a life because of an irritating griever? LOL. Imagine the pain of being stung, Those deep purple veins, Ew.

On and on, this Thomas made decisions for himself and soon Newt decided to make him a runner. Yeap, a stubborn one. HAHAHA, not to forget, a bold one! Well, talking about Newt just made me very alive too.

I FOUND NEWT INTERESTING!

Like how? I don't know. He's just not my type, he's not handsome, looks like an elf too, but somehow his actions and role in the movie just attracted my attention. So yeap. Kinda like him.

Oh yes , remember the part when MinHo and Thomas went to section 7 to further investigate the area? THEY FOUND A PLACE THAT MINHO NEVER BEEN. You guys may have guessed that the " cute " guy i've mentioned in facebook that i'm interested in would be MinHo. But nope, and at the part that he said he didn't once discovered about the new area, i was like "Hey, for years, seriously? i could do better than that *flips my hair* " LOL. Okay pretty dramatic much.



But i can seriously say that section 7 was pretty eerie and i kinda felt the anxiety while watching the show, thumbs up



Many grievers came attacking the glade after many interesting happenings upon Thomas's arrival. And to mention that Teresa came in the plot too,being " the last one". Those grievers made gladers run and escape in fear, Destroying their homes and supplies,and some lives were even loss. At that point, i was cursing those grievers away in my head, like "Oi, why you come now and make newt life difficult huh. first alby MIA already then he has to be incharge, see he already so stressed up you come in? why not kill yourself". I must not be mad.

That incident when grievers bombarded the area made the gladers's family split into two.

Obviously, the ones that venture made the show interesting, boo to the losers that stayed, though i bet i'll also stay ONLY IF THERE WAS NO COMPANION THAT WAS WILLING TO STICK THROUGH THICK AND THIN IF WE WERE TO ENTER THE MAZE :(

Don't you guys just hate the spoiler "Gally", Oh my god. He was trying to show off his violent skills at the start of the movie, then goes on telling the whole "world" that Thomas was spoiling everything they had, and then next he was unwilling to follow the majority to venture in the maze and get to the bottom of this whole maze issue. THEN, Tried to kill innocent souls who made it through the maze in the end. AND GOD , THAT CHUBBY GUY DIED.

That guy died, i felt so sad, i started tearing when i saw him dying, Like, *shit you still haven't met your parents and give that wooden doll to them, why did you die now?:( You were so good to everyone and you can't just die like that* There goes my ruined makeup too. mhm.

Near towards the end of the movie, it was actually that those gladers were guinea pigs being used to try to solve some experiments or some sort of shit. THEN, a lady appeared on the screen congratulating them for their success in solving that maze. SHE MADE THOSE GLADERS IN THE "HAPPY EVENT" sound sooooo HEROIC. but no, They were just Guinea pigs. Guinea pigs in disguise . And damn i was fuming at that time.

I MEAN WHO WOULDN'T GET MAD , after looking at those worn out faces and yet there's still a stage 2? Which i suppose there would be a maze runner part 2 and i'm definitely looking forward to it though. 

But for now, they were being sent to a haven that they're safe for the time being.

What a relief.
